BALOS LAGOON

The Balos Lagoon is situated at the western side of the Chania county, on the left cape called Old Gramvousa. One can visit it in two ways, by car up to a certain point where the road stops, and then can continue on foot, and by boarding on the ferry from the Kissamos port. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and thousands if tourists visit it every year. It has beautiful turquoise waters of varied depths (you can even play football on water), gorgeous sand of different colours such as white, pink and purple, and make sure you keep an eye for those bright yellow sea shells!

PNEVMATIKAKIS WINERY AND WINE MUSEUM

Are you a wine lover or connoisseur? Excellent! Crete is the place to be for you! Having had a long tradition of wine making going back all the to the Minoan Civilisation, Cretan grapes make excellent, full bodied wines of different varieties. In order to be able to taste the different varieties, make sure to visit the Pnevmatikakis Winery, which is located only within a 10 min drive from the Villa allegra, and offers a series of activities.

The winery is open daily and offers both free winery tour and tasting sessions, and the museum gives a more in depth look within the Cretan history of not only wine making, but other products such as Tsikoudia and Rakomelo.
